About The Vine Project
OUR MISSION
The Vine Project exists to love people the way Christ loves us by creating a community where no one has to face life's struggles alone. Through faith, meaningful relationships, and peer support, we strive to remind every person that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved.
We believe healing often begins with connection. Whether someone is searching for friendship, encouragement, or hope, our goal is to walk alongside them with compassion and grace.
OUR STORY
The Vine Project was founded at the University of Kentucky from a simple belief: everyone deserves someone to walk beside them.
After experiencing the challenges of mental health firsthand, our founder recognized how life-changing it can be to have people who show up, listen without judgment, and remind you that hope is never out of reach. That experience inspired a vision to create a community where students and teenagers could find genuine connection, encouragement, and the love of Christ.
What began as one person's story has grown into a mission to build a culture where people care for one another, support one another, and never have to struggle in isolation.
OUR VISION
We dream of a future where no young person has to face mental health challenges alone.
Our vision is to build a movement rooted in faith, hope, and authentic relationships—one that transforms lives through mentorship, community, and compassionate support. As The Vine Project grows, we are committed to expanding our mentorship programs, strengthening partnerships throughout Kentucky, and creating places where people feel seen, safe, and encouraged.
Our ultimate vision is to establish a faith-based residential mental health center in Kentucky where teenagers and young adults can receive compassionate, Christ-centered care close to home. We believe every person deserves access to hope, healing, and a community that walks alongside them on their journey.
WHAT WE DO
At The Vine Project, we create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and connected. Through faith, authentic relationships, and intentional community, we walk alongside students and teenagers as they navigate life's challenges.
Peer Mentorship: We train compassionate mentors to build meaningful relationships with teenagers, offering encouragement, accountability, and consistent support.
Community: We create welcoming spaces through campus events, worship nights, and small groups where genuine friendships can grow.
Faith & Hope: Our mission is rooted in the love of Christ. We encourage honest conversations about mental health while reminding people that hope is never out of reach.
Partnerships: We collaborate with churches, businesses, schools, and community organizations to expand our impact and reach more people who need support.
Christ-Centered
We seek to love others with the compassion, humility, and grace that Jesus demonstrated.
Community
Healing happens in relationships. We believe people grow stronger together.
Hope
No story is beyond redemption, and no person is beyond hope.
Service
We are called to serve others with open hands and open hearts.
Authenticity
We believe people should be free to be honest about where they are and know they will be met with compassion.
